Some more students got to add a duck to the DUX pond after the last collection day!

These friends collected the first week and got to add a duck to the Quincy DUX POND display case! Keep up the good work, Lightning Bugs!

When our math lesson is finished each day, we have some time to play math games from our math shelf! They are a fun way to practice math facts and skills with friends. Check out the Lightning Bugs playing Addition Crossout.

This past Wednesday, we had our first fire drill of the year and the 2nd Graders won the award for being the most quiet, well-behaved role models out on the field during the drill. Mrs. Holman celebrated by getting popsicles for us! What a responsible group!

The Lightning Bugs are working on building their reading stamina as they get cozy in the many Book Nooks around our classroom. See them in action!

On the first day of school, we had some "magic" jitter juice to help calm our fears and make any worries go away. We even gave some to Mr. Karr, since it was his first day of the school year as the new principal! Everyone was smiling, so it must have helped!
